The peak cruising season for Europe is May through October, when the weather
is the best and the days the longest – almost twenty hours of daylight
in Scandinavia. The temperate climate during these months will make packing
easier, too. Going between April – early June and September – October
usually make for both great deals and smaller crowds.
As you'd expect with a large continent, Europe's weather varies between region
and season, so you'll want to look up the weather patterns for whichever
destination(s) you choose. Find out when and where you can expect the weather
you prefer most. If you're looking to travel during a specific period, consider
matching your destination to the sort of temperatures you're looking for.
With destinations near the ocean, be prepared for it to be slightly warmer or
colder than predicted. Layering clothes is always a very good idea. Be sure
to pack a few pairs of comfortable walking shoes for strolling Europe's cobblestone
streets and ancient historical sights.
The U.S. Department of State and Homeland Security has announced that U.S. citizens
must present a valid passport to exit or re-enter the United States. However,
document requirements for air travel currently differ from sea or land travel:
Effective now: U.S. citizens are required to present a valid U.S.
passport for all air travel to or from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America,
the Caribbean, and Bermuda.
January 1, 2008: U.S. citizens will be required to present a valid
U.S. passport for all air, sea, and land border crossings.
Please keep in mind that the above timeline could change. As a result, we strongly
encourage all of our passengers to obtain passports for travel outside of the US.
